Spring Walk and Talk on Nature Journaling
Robert K. Musil, Author of Washington In Spring: A Nature Journal for a Changing Capital
Join us for a spring nature walk around Woodend Sanctuary and a talk on nature journaling. Author Robert Musil will lead a walk and then give a talk on his new book.
Robert K.Musil is President and CEO of the Rachel Carson Council, author of Rachel Carson and Her SistersandHope for a Heated Planet, and an award-winning journalist.
A delightful chronicle of a single season in a single place that nonetheless bears on the entire planet. It belongs on the bookshelf of every Washingtonian, every lover of spring, and every admirer of the sweet traditions of natural history and close observation. A cherry blossom of a book!
~ Bill McKibben, author of Wandering Home
A wonderful and urbane walk and talk in the suburban and city woods, with an informative historical context that reveals Washington DC to have been home and inspiration for many noted naturalists. Musil finds the wildness still alive -- and perhaps even reviving -- in the midst of manicured lawns and non-native landscaping.
~ Steve Dryden, author of Peirce Mill: Two Hundred Years in the Nation's Capital
