Description

The Webb Nature Sanctuary offers a lot of nature in a small space. Its 20 acres include a mix of woodland, meadow, and stream valley. These are home to nesting songbirds from the tropics; amphibians, including spotted salamanders and woodfrogs; gray and red fox; flying squirrels, and other mammals; reptiles, such as box turtles, five-lined skinks, and black-rat snakes; and a variety of butterflies, dragonflies, and other insects. Interpretive signs along our trails offer information about local natural history.

The Webb Nature Sanctuary grounds are open daily from dawn to dusk. When you come, be sure to save time to visit the charming, historic town of Clifton.

  Directions

Take I-66 west to Fairfax Co. Pkwy south (Rt. 7100) toward Springfield; take next exit, Lee Hwy (Rt. 29); turn right (south) onto Rt. 29 at bottom of exit ramp; go to third traffic light and turn left on Clifton Rd. (7-11 at corner); travel about 3.5-4 miles and bear right at "T" intersection (Welcome to Clifton Sign); cross RR tracks (Clifton Rd. becomes Main St.) and make 2nd right after Clifton Store onto Chestnut St.; go to end of Chestnut St., continue straight on gravel drive.

Park in grassy area on right before circle; please do not park in the circle.
