Free Beginner Birds Walks
Every Saturday morning from September-June. Meet in front of our Sanctuary Shop at 8:00 am. Walks last approximately one hour. Bring binoculars or use ours. No registration necessary.

COMPOST BINS Our Chevy Chase location usually has free compost bins for Montgomery Co. residents. Give us a quick call before you come over to pick them up. 301-652-3606

Our locations offer a superb opportunity to try binoculars before you buy. Here, Volunteer Drewry Cromwell tries the fabulous new Nikon EDG 8x42 binoculars. We sell a good selection of expertly chosen binoculars and spotting scopes, including Nikon, Pentax, Bushnell, Swift, and Swarovski.

Birdseed Descriptions, a helpful guide to attracting birds

All income supports our education and conservation programs. ANS Members get a 10% discount. During Sales such as Birdseed Sales, members get a 20% discount, whereas non-members get 10% off. We carry a good selection of birdseed, birdfeeders, nest boxes, accessories, binoculars, books on Nature for all ages, field guides to places around the world, gifts, children's toys and games, t-shirts, jewelry, notecards, and shade grown coffee. We do special orders and we ship UPS. Our online shop offers a small selection and is growing.
